My horn stopped working

Hi folks. Squeezed my horn earlier and it beeped, then twitched and now no longer working.

What do you think it could be? And where would you check first?

Bike: SV650s 99 model.

Disconnect horn, hook up a multimeter to the connectors coming off the loom and hold the horn switch down. Should see 12Vish. That will rule out the wiring/switchgear/bike electrics. For the horn, there's an adjuster screw on the back of it, you could try tweaking it and keep testing after adjusting a turn or so each time, both ways.

If you don't have a multimeter then just use a bulb and two wires, an old indicator works well.

Could be that the connections need cleaning, as they seem to place horns behind the front wheel. So they get covered in road crap.

Horn failed on my gixer a while back, connector on it had snapped off. I tried valiantly to solder it back together but due a to lack of skill it broke again a day or so later. Off to the scrappy and pulled a couple (in case one didn't work) off some kia rios or something similar which were about the same size as the bike one. Cost = £0, it sounded a little louder and i now have a spare in the shed for next time i have any horn issues too
