Immobilizer, wtf?

Well I started having a look at what's actually on the cbr 400 I just bought and have found an immobilizer thats not connected up and some weird thing hanging down by the battery which I'm guessing is part of the immobilizer too what do you guys reckon?

Didnt look at it properly as I didn't dare touch the bloody thing, looking at the battery there's two wires which aren't connected which I suppose is to get that device connected or the immobilizer.

Yeah I'm going to to be stripping the subframe, sanding here down with 800 gritt and then get some hammerite paint or something on it over the next few days.

If I wire it up its just going to set the immobilizer off isn't it.... :L

I had something very similar on the Triumph, and that was a Datatool Veto Evo. Dont know what it did, it had a red wire the same as yours that went in a block with 2 green signal wires that I had to use to program my new fob. Would actually be interested to know what it is myself.

Managed to find a manual for my alarm system which isnt fully plugged in and found out the thing hanging down is the siren and if I connect it up and don't have the key it's just going to keep going off untill I turn it off with the key for it so I think I may just have to leave it for now :L

I find a Chisel works best on Imobilizers

The one with the little speaker on it is the alarm aswell but the hanging part is an external alarm which is 115db according to the manual and if I hook the thing up and dont have the remote key thing to turn it off then it will keep going off since it has an external power supply so I'm just going to contact the seller asking for it and leave it how it is.

In the meantime I can sort out the pillion pegs and subframe which are pretty rusty and messy, I'm guessing just sand the whole thing down with 800 gritt down to bare metal and then get some silver hammerite paint and brush it.

Just follow the wires it will be a loom connection as the immob is a relay. The loop will be on a ignition live feed and a permenant live, the ignition live going to or from the ignition or coils etc etc.

The chisel jobby will only happen if the guy I bought it off doesn't have the key for it which I need since I can't be bothered to naff about trying to contact a company which I think has gone bust to order a new key etc.

I think I'm going to do this thing the proper way and remove the petrol tank and remove the immobilizer bit by bit....
