CBR600FY - Tail Pipe Suggestions

Hi All,

The standard end can on my 600FY is extremely tatty. I would like to upgrade with something a bit easier on the eye but don't want anything too loud that is likely to annoy the nieghbours. Any suggestions?

Related question - if I replace the standard end can would I have to mess about with the jets?

I always just looked on ebay and the CBR forum and grabbed something going for an okay price second hand.

Had a Micron full system on it before I sold it, bargain at £110 cos it needed some cleaning.

One thing I wouldn't do is get some stubby or MotoGP can for a bike like that.

If it were me, I'd go down the stainless route or something - Blueflame, Scorpion or the like, with a removable baffle for keeping the the neighbours happy/come MOT time.

my mate had a remus inovation (I think) on his 95 cbr600f, looked alright, I think it was alloy as opposed to stainless (dull looking) and it sounded really nice. It wasn't loud really, but the sound was spot on.

I have a Scorpion on mine. Even with the baffle removed its not too loud.

Anyone tried a high level pipe on theirs? I'm looking for a replacement for my scorpion, preferably carbon, oval, and shorter, but not stubby. Not sure what a high level pipe would look like on there?

My Micron is currently making anything below 7k revs a bit lumpy, just a thought.

I heard mixed reviews on Beowulf cans, after I'd already bought and fitted mine, but I've been more than pleased with it.
Competitive prices, decent quality, "lifetime guarantee", and hand-made in UK...

I got an oval stubby stainless can with removeable baffle. It's MOT / neighbour friendly with the baffle in (although I rarely use the baffle because the throaty sound without it is sooo good), and there's no need to do anything with the jets etc

It also had the added advantage of a slight increase in MPG after I'd fitted it
