Planned on getting this tomorrow but will have to wait till saturday as have crushed my foot and won't fit in my bike boot
Anyone had an MT-03 before? Did you rate it much..
This is an '08 plate, as new and a good price so thought id get it and see how it goes...
Need some louder cans on it when I get it though.. ____________________ A2 License...................Order of Wheels:

Hmmm it is a bit.
Not quite as quick for a start
If you saw the lane to get back home on to the farm when its rained (is a boggy river now after only a few days of rain) don't want to be taking a shiny R6 out in the rain never mind up and down that lane.
'08 plate. 1500 miles. 1 owner. Immaculate.
£2500 so can't moan at that.
Can put 10,000 on it and not lose out ____________________ A2 License...................Order of Wheels:

Decent price plus you can chuck out your dildos.
Wouldn't mind one as a commuter when I have a bit more cash. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

You might find it a bit gutless compared to your R6. But if it's only for winter...then I wouldn't worry about everyone else's impressions of it, you have the next 8 months to work that out for yourself. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Strangely I went from a 98 R6 to a MT-03 and I still LOVED it.
I had twin arrow cans on it, and it sounded like the apocalypse...here's a vid of it .....

Already on the look out for some louder cans for it
Take it only cans designed for this model will fit? (without modification that is)
Only have the pics from the original advert and not sure about resizing them
Looks chuckable on the lanes so will have to see.
Getting it from welwyn garden city tomorrow after a long train journey. Will just sleep I thi
Think ill get a numb ass on this?
Is about 270ish miles back home on it, or is the seat position forgiving enough?
Just think I will be bored sat on m/ways for so long
Will let you know if its any good. Train gets in about 1030 tomorrow so should be back before dark ...
Hate the big moulded platic number plate plastic thing, forgotten its name as you can tell so first on the list is a tail tidy me thinks, then rad guard, fenda extenda, liberal coating of ACF50 and should be good to go. ____________________ A2 License...................Order of Wheels:

Even stranger now your picking it up from Welwyn as your just down the road!
The seat is fairly comfy, and the bars are nice. You'll probably get fed up of the vibrations, or a sore neck from the wind blast before anything else.
70mph is comfy on the bike, once you hit 80 it gets a bit vibey.
The big bit at the back is harder to get rid of than it looks, I can't remember why, but I wanted to do it, but didn't. It survived winter fairly well, biggest pain was the exhaust, as because it has a matt finish you can't just polish it shiny again! The silver heat guard by your left leg was the bit that looked like it wanted to rust the most! ____________________ Currently Riding - 2002 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille |

A303 OR M4&M5 ?
Am thinking A303 if its sunny (haha) OR M4&M5 if it isn't.
The 303 is about according to this..
[Link to map failed]
about 20 odd miles shorter but takes longer in the long run.
Just don't want to sit for hours on motorways.
Taken the A303 to London before but was a late night trip to suprise the ex and can't recall much of the route ____________________ A2 License...................Order of Wheels:

I'd always wanted one, well for the last couple of years anyway. Always liked their style, limited performance and ability to entertain along the little unclassified routes I like to bimble around.
Actually got a go on one the other week as I prised the keys from a friend of mine. The MT was just as I thought it would be, nice branch-snapping pop from the exhaust on the overrun too.
Although I was tempted, and I thought it was a better bike for my uses than my DRZ, I think it would be too rich for my wallet given for what I'd be using it for.
Nice bike mind, think I prefer it in red like yours. |

I really like the 303, better scenery than taking the Motorway! Just the single lane bits are a pain, Not on a bike tho ____________________ 2016 Honda Africa Twin

Red and the white bits with the shape of the tank too looks really different. and boy did it vibrate at times
Just got in. Left my trusty aluminium box at 545 this morning and have just got back. OH and dog couldn't come so let the OH look after mad dog instead..
What a day.
Police bike chase ( it looked like that anyway) popped in on friends on the way back. got swarmed by what seemed to be a whole village when I stopped after stone henge offering me burgers and home made cakes....yadda yadda. Travel in London was great, would hate to be in a car there though...
Wanted to leave the bike and walk at times but just had to remind myself that it is not what Im used to. Will let you know more about bike when I get in from work 2mrw or something as tired and not really very polite to sit here on the laptop much longer...

Aaargh sod off!!
Nice bike though Chloe, wouldn't mind one myself actually, and at that price, even better.
Was looking in dealerships yesterday PM to get an idea on Hornet prices, looking at circa 3 grand for an 03 model.
Not really looked into buying privately yet.
But yeah, enjoy it love, looks like it could be a grinmachine.
Cheers,
Steve. |
3k?!?!?!?!?
I bought this for £1,850 2 weeks ago, 03, almost mint condition, tax and mot for a year, good tyres, full service history...etc etc!!
https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/angelgrinder187/DSCF2376.jpg
Go privately, if your really worried, go to a bike garage or someone knowledgeable, and pay £100 for them to look at it with you....your still saving over a grand! ____________________ Currently Riding - 2002 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille |

Haha, no worries. I've never had any problems with private tbh, just be sensible. If I ring them up/talk to them and they sound like a dickhead, I won't bother. Same with if you turn up and they live in horrible estate or something.
I know it may be sterotypical, but it's my money at the end of the day. But at the same time, if the person seems reasonable, and knows their stuff then I will go and look! Just use your head!
I don't understand how dealers get away with it to be honest, I know someone who recently traded in a bike at a dealers for less than £1000 they would have got for it privately. When asked they said it was because it was easier.
Was is really a whole months wages (for me) easier? No. Same for buying a bike really.
So yeah....just be sensible really! ____________________ Currently Riding - 2002 Aprilia RSV1000 Mille |

I went the other way. MT-03 to R6.
Awesome bike though, really good handling. Defo a wheelie machine as well. I popped pretty decent ones quite a lot. Im no good at wheelies, but all you had to do on the MT was crack the throttle open in 1st.
Wouldn't get too excited about its offroad/crappy lane ability. Mine felt way heavier than the R6 and..... might actually be? Its no light supermoto though anyway.
Great bike, would of loved to have both but the R6 was where I wanted to go for the time being and had to sell for the MONIES.
Have fun. ____________________ Current: MT-10, Bandit, Grom, GPZ500
