Help checking oil please

I cant find my dipstick on my 2000 R6 I havent had the bike long and its started to loose a little oil so before I take it out I want to check the oil level. If anyone can describe (simply) where it is I would be really grateful. I dont have the owners manual

If it has a dip stick it would be on the RHS of the engine, not sure if it has tho. May have a sight glass witch would be at the bottom of the engine on the RHS, in which case you need to stand the bike up so it's vertical and check the oil level between the lines on the glass.

me thinks it's on the right hand side right next to the clutch arm... forward and much lower down than the oil filler cap.
