Water mate. Rinse it, then soapy shampoo it, then rinse it again, then wipe it down with a microfibre cloth to avoid water marks. For things like the wheels, just get a scrubbing thing or wheel cleaner and rub the fvck out of them until they are clean. Then, any vehicle polish will do on the paint. If your bike is that minging, there is no point spending large bucks on cleaning products just yet, just give it a decent wash and go from there. ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.

i was advised some of this stuff
https://www.triumph-online.co.uk/ekmps/shops/squaredealsmot/images/sdoc100powergel.jpg
its quite good, you can see it removing grime with out even wiping, and its meant to leave a "protective film" after,
but that some times makes the bike look like it hasn't been washed as the film makes the paint work look dull ____________________ they say the good die young... i say we just live faster |

I used some GUNK Ultra in a spray bottle on my CBR it smells a bit strong, but cleaned my wheels really well. I had a load of chain lube fling off, brake dust and general road grime on them, soapy water wouldn;t touch it, yet this GUNK stuff took it off with no effort required on my part, literally a quick wipe with a piece of rag and they were perfectly clean and white again Also obliterated all of the flies off the front from when I went to and from m0l0t0v's bbq ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

Maybe a bit OTT, but the single best thing i've so far found to clean a bike well... is paddock stands! if I had space for a bench, i'd have one too!
Seriously, for getting wheels and chain sorted out, it makes things a lot easier and quicker.
Another vote for Gunk as well, but be careful not to get it on tyres and make sure it's cleaned off well, as its really pretty slippy.
I've taken to using one of these things for the wheels;
https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_386305_langId_-1_categoryId_165486
Fill it with cheap washing up liquid and cleans the wheels up nicely without much effort.
For the rest of it, a rinse, then muc off, then another rinse, then wax it.
I basically asked in a used bike shop, as they get ropey bikes in and somehow get them cleaned up really well again. They had a few things they didnt generally sell but used themselves. Mine is never generally in ace nic, but i found with this stuff and a couple of hours I could get it looking pretty good. ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11
