Just lately I've been seeing a lot of police on little scoots (they might be speedfights, they might not, they look shit.

At first I thought they were just pootling round town, which kind of makes sense, but there was one at the side of the road on the way home peering at people in cars, presumably checking for phones, just like the real 'Emergency bikers' do!

Is this just a manchester thing, since they have no cameras, apparently no lights and I could outrun them on my pushbike whats the point in them?

Police in London have nice mountain bikes to get around some of the larger housing estates.
They can get to places quicker than cars doing the blues and twos often.
I cant see why they would`nt consider using them, then even the unfit copper can get to the incident.

Nope, police. Blue scooters with Yellow HiVis, parking wardens round here are silver with red livery.

I live in Fallowfield mate.

I assure you, they're parking wardens, the ones on foot in town wear red but you reguarly see the ones on scoots in rusholme and out of town places zipping round checking for people to fine.

They used to pull up outside an office I worked in and someone would come in and shout and half the office would run out to move their cars.

Plenty of police on the continent use scooters - faster than a mountain bike, and easy to hop on and off. Presumably don't cost much to keep in use.

Furry muff, could have sworn it said police on the side. Still wonder what the hell they were doing watching traffic from the side of the road though. Maybe just having a skive.
