It can snow any month of the year at altitude but only the higest peaks hold it for long - but today has seen substantial snowfall which would have messed up anyone's plans if biking there at the moment.
Not just a brief cover but several inches and near freezing all day,
Austria seems worst affected.

We're on a ferry to Caen on Sat 11th, heading south through France to Pyrenees, plan was to then go via the alps up to Germany and back home... not entirely sure what to do if its all snowed in though Confused Confused

I guess I better buy some thermals and cold weather gear too...

I'll probably be off on the 13th now, keeps getting put back, i'm just going to make it up as I go I think. I might head for the South of France and then across below the Alps rather than through them but i'd rather not do that so I may just go and have a look anyway and see what the situation is, check a few mountain webcams before I go. Not so keen on heading to Pyrenees and Spain as that was going to be a future trip with some more research it's an option though.

Research? Shocked I think we're just heading in the general direction and hoping for the best Laughing Laughing

Hope you enjoy your trip too Thumbs Up this is a MUCH needed holiday and break from work for me so whatever I do is more than likely going to be awesome! Mr. Green
