Anyone interested in coming to play at CHEC this weekend?

6 hour event, but you can enter in teams, which will make it easier, as you should get some decent breaks.

Except, err, I don't have a team, so anyone want to come play?

Not this one. However I'm picking up an XR250 tonight, so should hopefully be up for some CHEC/Enduroland/Cotswold events in the near future. Thumbs Up

Entered 'Iron Man', but took some reasonable breaks between laps.
Longish course; I was doing around 30 minute laps, then generally taking a fifteen minute or so break after that.
Think this format would be good for 'noobs' - as less needto cram the laps in. In a team it means plenty of opportunity to recuperate a bit.
I was surprised to go past more people than passed me, not that it means much.
Fairly happy with my riding; first lap was terrible (as usual for me) and goggles started to steam up towards the end. Swapped for some others and these were worse on the second lap.
Third lap I cleaned first ones with soapy water and the rain had stopped, which seemed to sort it.
Got into my flow and tried the other 'hard' route which involved a steep down then even steeper up hill the other side - as the bloke I was talking to pointed out, if it's the same height you just need a few revs at some point and you should make it up fine, or so physics says Smile.
Fairly happy with my riding for the rest of it - though still suffering from my right hand seizing up - pins and needles, etc.

Yea, on 200; definetely getting into it a bit more than the last one I did where I was too tired for most of it.
Still not sure whether or not to do the 6 hour moped race next weekend solo or not.

Ended up coming 60th out of 85, happy enough with that, considering everything.

Blue_SV650S - didn't enter.
Sounds like an epic fail on that scale Very Happy Wink.

Often come last in push bike events and quite happy with that too - if you think you're good, you're probably not comparing yourself to the right people Razz.

But didn't you enter the bottom class?

Presumably the bottom 3rd were grey beards on 1950s kit?!?!

There are no classes at CHEC, but still, that'd have given me a lot better result than I got at the last trial I did - where quite a few people were on 'classics' Smile - and I was happy with that too!

It should be noted, that generally in the push biking I've come last of the men entered in my class that have finished - happy enough just to complete the event, especially when many don't.

After only managing one 5 mile lap at a (particularly muddy) EnduroKent practice day - I take my hat off to you! Very Happy
