CB250N Superdream camshaft.

Hi, Its been 2yr since i rebuilt my cb250n and have been trying to tune it to perform better till date.
Now let me get directly to the point. after browsing cmsnl.com i have realised that the CB250 superdream also came in Full power versions, the German ones i guess the NA. which had different cams. which obviously made me wonder if i fit those will my bike run better.I could not find one online.
Then again if i do happen to find one will it fit, I guess it should as the carrages are common and is the Valve timing, lift totally radical which might punch the pistons.
Has any one fiddled with the cam, would be great help if some light was shed on this topic.

What makes you think that yours is restricted? Suspect a 13ps one would struggle to get over 70mph (full power should manage about 85mph).

The NA is just the sub model in order of when they were made (like with the 400 where the CB400NC was the last one in the UK with reverse rim com stars and twin pot calipers).

I don't think the 250 superdreams came in restricted and un-restricted versions. What you gotta remember is your bike is nearly 30 years old and won't appreciate a higher state of tune than what it left the factory in. The superdream is a mediocre commuter bike with a frame heavier than a challenger tank it takes an age to get to 70mph and when new would go to 85-88mph and return about 45-50mpg. Your gonna be wasting your time and money if you try and turn a steady heavy commuter into something it isn't. Buy a 400 one instead it's a different animal in the same frame.

They weren't restricted in the UK, just gutless. Stick a 400 engine in it.

These are the pictures of the bike 2yr ago, the engine cylinders rebored to accomodate .50 oversize pistons.
It does around 65mph but after i changed the front sprocket to a 14 tooth one.

Op, if you want a bit more power replace the stupid cv carbs with items from the earlier K series 250 Hondas as the dreams will not run worth a damn without a balance box in the exhaust system, but they will run fine on proper slide carbs

Thanks radical, that is a good idea. i need to check for carbs and i do have RD350 Yamaha throttle cables lying around some where which i could use.

if you like older hondas the cb400 better than the 250 but not by much ! go for a cx500 much much better bike and quicker than the cb400 by amile and they do sound the part with decent twin pipes on, V twin sound well nice, had 2 cx500s and loved them.
