Looking to get some leathers soon. Want a 2 piece, as I am short and not exactly slim so think this would be the best option.

Found these which come in short leg, so might go for them. Are RST leathers any good? Do they come up particularly small/big? obviously going to try some on.

Just wondering if they are any good really?

Cheers

I bought the RST Rift two piece suit and within weeks the zippers that connects the pants to the jacket came away at one side. Then a year later the front zipper bust. They use them flappy little gay zippers instead of chunky ones.

I have the RST Fusion Jacket, and the gloves can't remember the name but most expensive ones they do, and both have been absolutely great, and look good too. Their lids are pants mind.

I would recommend them as great looking and comfortable noob kit.

I've got the RST Rift gear, Zip on the front of the trousers went, but replaced with chunky one and not had any problems since, quite comfy and look ok... Thumbs Up from me.

My girlfriend has the same pair, is there any solution to it, maybe get better zips on or can you not do that?

They haven't fallen off, they are just a bit tricky.

I have them, bought them about 2 months ago and the Razor boots. Wrote off my zx6r in them and you wouldnt even tell I've had a crash, just very light scuffs.

Paid £140 trousers, £160 jacket, £110 boots,
They are even less at some places now, can't go wrong at that price really..

Another budget brand which I have found to be good quality is Spyke.

my dads got RST gear and tbh the connecting zips are naff.

one misaligned and broke the moment he tried to put them together.

replace with a big chunky zip ftw.

rest of the gear looks good tho

that said my dianese textiles have small zips and they're top quality so its not just the size of the zip that counts (its how you use it Wink)

Yep, i've got the same problem. Only recently it keeps coming away at the wrong end (Meaning you have to struggle to take the dam things off! Rolling Eyes )

Other than that though they're quite good for the price i think, mine just need re-waterproofing Sad

Waterproofing doesnt bother me too much, if I'm about to head out and looks like it will rain then ill wear textiles or get some waterproof overs.

Whats the best thing to do replace the zips straight away or wait till they fail (if they fail, but by the sounds of it they will)

Actually does anyone know any leather fabricators near Cambridge area? Or do you just send them the leathers to get done?

Also how much would it be? do they just charge labour costs if I provide zips

I'm looking at having the zips replaced with chunky ones, looking at £15 odd for the front and £25 odd for the connection. Not bad but still a bit shit considering they shouldn't have broke in the first place.

Not 100% sure right now, it depends how much the bike I'm trying to get goes for right now.

It will probably be in the region of £300 though
