Atleast he died doing what he loved, I suppose.

My thoughts are with his family & friends.

Yes, although it's been flipped to avoid the copyright people.

Is scott okay? I heard on the TV he was talking and stuff, but his leg did seem to be flapping about a fair bit as he rolled...

RIP, the guy was shaping up to be one of the most promising riders to come out of Japan for a while.

Poor form from the BBC for not clarifying things when Pedrossa mentioned about Lenz last week too Neutral

He won the first ever Moto2 race. Glad he got a bit of the history books. Terrible shame though, didn't see the accident but did it have anything to do with the stupid amount of bikes fighting for a bit of space in Moto2?

I just caught the news after watching the Eurosport rerun of the MotoGP race, having gone out this morning whilst the Moto2 bikes lined up on the grid. I can't quite get my head around it. Tomizawa showed so much promise as a rider and was obviously a nice guy as well. I don't want to watch the crash, but it sounds like Scott could've been seriously hurt too, so at least he's ok, physically anyway.

RIP Shoya.

That sort of accident could happen in any race regardless of the numbers. Horrible accident and one that you could never really prevent. Spare a thought for Scott Redding & Alex Dangerous. What must they feel like tonight. Sad

Terrible! Crying or Very sad

I had recorded the racing to watch now, as I've just got in, but having seen the reports I'm all out of sorts and can't face watching any of it now!

Me and the mrs just watched it. So sad, such a horrific string of events all adding together to make such a tragic outcome.

Ive read some comments where people have said the marshals dropped the stretcher as they carried him off, anyone know if this is true?

It is true, they showed it live. They practically threw him and Redding onto the stretchers then managed to drop Tomizawa's.

Surely they know that if someone has an accident like this that there's a chance of spinal or head injuries and in which case shouldn't be moved until they are safely strapped to a spinal board.

Fucking hell, the race wasn't red flagged then? I'm assuming that if it had been there wouldn't have been such a rush to get them off the circuit.

Nope wasn't red flagged even though Tomizawa ended up in the middle of the track, they just dragged them away as quickly as possible.
