Did a bit of a stupid thing, had my dtr swingarm powder coated but forgot to take the bearings and bushes out before i took it Embarassed . And i've had a good try with a hammer socket and extension but i can't get them to move Confused . Anybody got any ideas how i could get them out without damaging the powder coating and preferably for free?
I asked local engineering shop (harbrook engineering they make the structures for snugburies big models - meerkat atm) and the lad i know there said that they could do it but their press is 50 ton and they bent a swingarm slightly when they did it for somebody and that he wouldn't trust the lads in the workshop not to bend another.
And i know it's a long shot but is there anybody on here in the cheshire area (possibly staffordshire or shropshire) that could do it?

Slide hammer isn't a bad idea actually, don't think i could get a bearing puller on it.

Junior Hacksaw or a small file.
Two three cuts through the bush, break the bugger out.

Bearing races are hardened steel; in which case I wouldnt have suggested it.
BUSHES shouldn't be hardened anything.
Normally phosphur bronze, or stintered ali/soft iron; more often these days phenolic plastic.
Idea of a bush is that it is the bearing material between two moving parts, and wears instead of the bits that are moving relative to each other....
....if it was harder than the steel pivot it wrapped around, wouldn't be much point in trying to replace it, the spindle would be the service item, not the bush....
