Trying to book my propper motorbike theory test and i chose in the first option for it to be this coming friday, go to next page where it gives me available dates and it says earliest is "22nd of september".....

so i went back, chose ASAP option, goes to next page and its same date....

this is in both huddersfield and doncaster, the only places i can get to easily.

the problem is my CBT is up on october 11th and i wanted to get the tests all done asap before then but with this theory test online booking being so late on, i haven't got a chance...

So my question is: Is there any way to book my theory test so i can do it far sooner without going to a different location and without doing it online?

That just a quirk of the booking system, it lets you select a preference data but if there are no available slots at that center then it gives you the earliest slot that is available. You could try phoning them, I don't know if they take bookings over the phone, have a look at the website.

Other options are wait or find somewhere else. Redoing cbt isn't too much of a problem, apart from cost. If you're doing it on your own then treat it as a test and the instructor may instruct you as such.

Ring the DSA iirc they can give you the times/dates that people have cancelled.

I don't understand your problem at all. the theory date you've been given is still before your cbt and you have to have taken a cbt before your able to take a full bike test.

His CBT expires on october 11, so he's trying to fit the tests in and not have to redo it.

Why not book Mod 1 for 4 days after theory, and mod 2 for 4 days after that, leaving enough time to cancel in case of a fail, and if you have to redo cbt because of a fail you would have had to anyway.

Oh right, you've left it a bit late the next available practical test date down here is the end of October for bikes, middle of November for cars. You might want to check what the situation is up your way for a practical test before rushing to do your theory.

I would just do the test somewhere else. Assuming you have a 125 or a moped, 60 miles out isn't too much of a stretch, would be a fun ride.

thanks guys,

travelling isn't too much of a concern its just i would rather do my tests on roads i am more used to / less likely to fail and end up wasting money Sad

looks like i am going to have to end up doing my CBT again,

only reason i have held out so long for doing my bike test is that i was jobless, now i have a job and some strady money coming in but a bit too late by the looks of it all.

will let people know what happens with DSA on the phone tomorrow but atleast if i do my CBT again i could try and get the examiner to do it as a "lets do CBT but kinda practice session for big bike test at same time" so i can get feedback on what i may be doing wrong Razz

The other side is on roads you don't know you might concentrate more rather than just following the traffic up to 40 in a 30 (as I did on my mod 2)

I guess it depends on how well you know the roads, very well or been on them a few times
