I took my CBR to get mot'd the other day, it failed just on tyres and warped front brake discs, anyway that doesn't really matter.

My main question/point is, now i have no MOT which consequently means i can't tax my bike, so to ride it about is clearly illegal.
BUT! If i need to take the bike to a workshop to fit tyres & discs and i get pulled over, will i get slammed with a fine or am i allowed?

I can't see how else i am meant to get the bike back on the road.

Cheers!

You are allowed to ride your bike to and from an MOT centre as long as it is a pre-booked appointment and within a reasonable distance of your home address

Get a mobile fitter to come and sort out the tyres and fit the disc and new pads yourself Thumbs Up

Or remove the wheels and take them to a tyre service place Thumbs Up

I thought that was the rules, but the place i'm planning on taking the bike to is not where i'm getting the mot done.

Mate driving behind me it is then, its not far away anyway

You're allowed to take it to a garage for the work to be carried out as well as to the MOT station itself. Can't find the exact place where it says that but I'm pretty certain you are.

Just make sure it's pre-booked in and mention that it's an MOT job and you'll be fine.

I've got it booked in for saturday so that's not a problem, i'm going to have a bag full of bike bits with me so if i do get pulled then i should have a good argument.
Will also have the MOT failure certificate with me so i've got a leg to stand on.

Cheers for quick replies/advice

I'd be very concerned about the possibility of my insurance being invalidated.
