Hello All,

Does anyone here have a Berlingo Multispace or a Kangoo?
I am thinking of getting one to ferry the dog in the back off and really need additional space.

In addition does anyone know if the rear seats easily come out of them, so when the need arises I can use it as a van.

Finally what is NVH like? Are they noisey as hell to drive with little sophistication?

Cheers

Craig

Problem with driving those is you will look like a spacker and drive everywhere at 20mph below the speed limit, don't do it.

I get 2 Collies in the boot of a 306 without any problems. You just want a van. Laughing

You can always trust Phoenix to say it like it is!

Also Flip, I do want a van. But I don't want to pay van insurance prices. So one of these is a good compromise, that I can keep my car insurance and no claims with the space of a van.

Also going camping and hiking with a collie and all the camping gear gets abit tight in the Astra. Plus if I got a van derived car I could possibly ditch the tent an kip in it?

I spent 2 years driving a Berlingo around some of the best driving roads in Scotland when I was working as a field scientist and I thought it was bloody marvellous. I had a BMW 325i at the time and the Berlingo was a more involving drive...seriously.

They handle surprisingly well, quite happy to oversteer off the throttle and the turbo diesel's not that slow. Refinement wasn't too bad either really, in fact I'd say it was a nicer drive than some shitty small cars. This was a van one too, I bet the people carrier version is quieter inside.

Kangoo I didn't think was as good and I hate the Transit Connects. Either way though you'll either look like a white van man or a spacker depending on whether you get one with rear windows or not.

Have to agree with “Tommy”, I had a Berlingo from new.
From what I remember, the back seats fold down leaving a large flat space.
We used to do a lot of toing and froing into Europe.
Southern Germany to Amsterdam, four adults, plus mega amounts of Beer and wine plus enough luggage for three weeks was not a problem.
Ours was a diesel, took a while to get there, but once up to top speed (110mph IIRC), it would stay there all day, on the autobahn.
Very frugal on juice, as well, on longer trips.
Very comfy on long trips, slow, but pleasant to drive.
I needed to take an, old, double mattress to the tip, got it in, but it was a bit of a squeeze.
Hope that helps!

We had a Berlingo Multispace for a while, and it was fab, seats come out no problem, and you can fit a GN400 in the back.. Stick some alloys on, a chrome "A" bar and black out the windows and they look very cool..chassis is pure Peugeot 306-so they handle too. Even Clarkson rates 'em!

I had a kangoo for work. The van itself wasn't too bad, although it did feel a bit cheap. However, 60000 miles in 6 months in it has totally killed my back. If you a big guy, be careful!

I think you'll find the top one is Jason Grimshaw off Coronation Street. And who an earth told you Shane Byrne was one of the poof?

Anyway, my thread is going off topic!

What do people think of Shalambralaxys? (Ford Galaxy's for those not in the know).

Used to have a Zafira for lumping stuff about in when I didnt want to get the other car (Passat CC, I miss that bloody thing) minging and the dog was getting way to big to sit on the wifes knee.
It was a 2.0L TDI and was bloody fantastic for what I needed it for. Eventually traded them both in and got a Touareg which does it all now Thumbs Up
