Well, today's weather's been beautiful, so I decided to go out and ride round with a mate. Along the way back we decided to pull up in a (quiet) car park. Me being me, I got bored and went around and around in the car park, trying to get my knee down. Lower and lower I went, until eventually my slider touched down Very Happy Thumbs Up . After all this time, I finally got my knee down!!! Very Happy.

Then, about half a nanosecond after a grin had crossed my mug, the back tyre slid out, I remember hitting the floor and sliding on my arse, and the next thing I notice is that i'm sliding along the floor my NSR cartwheel across the car park at about 25mph. I leap up, sprint over to the NSR, which is pissing petrol everywhere, and turn off the engine. After a brief struggle I managed to haul the old girl upright, and put her on the stand. Me and my mate are there inspecting the damage, and I hear a police siren from somewhere. Next thing I know, there's a bloody police car with the lights flashing about 3 meters from my bike - how it got there i do not know, but i couldn't believe my bloody luck Neutral .

As the police walked towards me, I got the mental vision of driving bans, or being charged with dangerous driving, I couldn't believe i'd screwed up in front of the bloody police!

The first officer comes up and says something along the lines of "what do you think you're doing?!" - Apparently my bike cartwheeling across the car park was a bit of a distraction for other motorists. Surprisingly, the dude must have noticed that I was practically shitting myself, that I'd just binned it, and that I probably wasn't having a good day, he decided to take it easy on me Smile . I didn't get a bollocking, and all things considered I think dealing with the police was easier than I thought it'd be.

So I've now got a producer, I've got a warning that if i'm caught again they'll seize my bike, and I've got a fairing panel to repaint.

But hey, I got my knee down Cool .
Where's my certificates Laughing .

So you crashed and broke your bike and scuffed your slider whilst you slid down the road. Razz

Ermm... there wasn't painted on lines in this carpark by any chance Confused.

Car parks tend to accumlate shit on their already crappy surface, so not the best place to try stuff out you haven't done before.

I'm guessing you'll learn your lesson....
Large lumps of white paint are not grippy Wink.

I have got my knee down in car parks... but I have perfected the 'hang off like monkey' technique which involves hardly leaning the bike Razz.
Find a nice clean roundabout with fairly fresh tarmac and you should be fine Thumbs Up.

Lucky... very lucky.

The damage on the NSR looks pretty minimal too - so be thankful for that.

Thumbs Up Well done by the way, if you're still happy, then there can't be much going wrong .

Car parks. Not a good place for that kind of stuff, oil spills, greasy surface and as said earlier, white lines. Add in the fact that your tyres wont have been scrubbed that close to the edge and you have a recipe for disaster.

Looks like your bike crashes pretty well though, CBR125s plastics break right off at the slightest interaction with the road.

I have never had my knee down, I don't think it is physically possible withthe length of my shins. I once got a couple of mates to hold my GPZ over at max. lean whilst I hung off it and still couldn't reach the ground with my knee. I have regularly had my toes hit the ground on my supermoto though (which has about a foot of ground clearance) Twisted Evil

The bizzies have a habit of turning up just as you are up to no-good. They were probably sat watching you then pissing themselves laughing when you fell off. It is worth remembering that the road traffic act DOES apply in public car parks, so technically they could have done you for driving without due care and attention. Chalk it up to experience.

I'd get some gaffa on that saddle before the water gets in.
