I was talking bout the old days to some people today. In the late 70s Brum's punk culture was centered on a shop called Bell & Khan that sold bondage gear and a few late night venues like the Hosteria Wine Bar. We used the Hosteria a lot and one night the bouncers told us it was £0.50 to get in as there was a band on, They told us they were rubbish and called Duran Duran. We went for a pint at another bar.
I also walked out of a Pink Floyd gig at Knebworth in 76 but they were rubbish

Was too lazy to go and see Oasis and Jamiroquai at a local club before they were huge. Possible not a bad thing. |

My closest call was Dire Straits - I saw a documentary on TV showing them playing live and they looked, well..........dire!!
I couldn't be bothered to go after seeing that, but was persuaded on the basis that I had nothing better to do. They were just superb and to this day it is still one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
I have no idea what year (early 80's?) as it was years ago and they are all blurring into 'the old days' now! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

Almost heard GNR at Leeds this year but being half an hour late on, I decided to go and get some food. While eating said food I was in such a mood I buggered off back to the tent.
...Anyways, who cares, I also saw Slash at Download. ____________________ Rides - '60 Plate Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25, '03 Plate Kawasaki ZX6R B1H and an '87 VFR400 NC24
