Ripping music from Youetube

My mate showed me this awesome song and I was looking to buy the album but couldn't find it anywhere other than youtube. So googled rip youtube audio and found this site.

It is amazing, completely free and withing a minute I had downloaded the MP3 of the song from youtube. I feel it needs a thread to state how good it is.

I use 'Youtube to Mp3' from dvdvideosoft. Saves the songs to a folder on your PC & you can do multiple songs at a time. I did use the online converters but a lot of the time i'd get an error or something like system overflow.

Barely use anything else for music nowadays.

MPEG Streamclip is a good little tool for ripping stuff from YouTube, although it's only working in the beta version (which is perfectly stable for us) as YouTube change things about at their end all the time.

music on youtube is very low quality, you are better off using bit torrents

all youtube stuff is much lower sound quality than an mp3 that you download

typically 64 kbit/sec mono

to avoid being disappointed on opening, just download 10 at once, and delete the others when a good one downloads

ISPs throttle you if you download big files like 1gb movies, not 3MB tracks

doggone you obviously know how to use torrents but sweet FA about how they work.

I don't care what anyone says, when I listen to a youtube clip, I can tell that is is crap quality and I do not enjoylistening to it anywhere near as much as a decent rate mp3.

Same with FLAC, my ears still work and I can appreciate a flac at a higher volume than a 192kbps mp3. 320kbps is harder to distinguish but if I had the choice over flac or mp3, I would download flac even if it is 10x the size.

Personally I use www.video2mp3.net, but I presume it does the same thing.
