Just to let them know!

Hi Nigel,

I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know what went on with my exhaust order from you, I ordered my exhaust from yourselves on the 9th July and got an email from you explaining you have a 3 week lead time due to being busy, I thought this was fair enough however 6 weeks later I had still received nothing so I gave your sales team a call, Although the man on the phone was very helpful he explained that you were waiting on the link pipe to be made and because it was an smaller size pipe you were waiting to do a run of these smaller pipes to make it more financially viable for you, I was a little annoyed I hadn’t been informed of this but then I knew you have to make these in 'runs' else it wouldn’t be good business practice for you to keep changing tooling etc. I was promised my exhaust for Friday 3rd September.

Friday 3rd came and went, no exhaust, I thought maybe it would be delivered on Monday, Still no joy so I decided to give you another call, I got told that you did indeed do the run of smaller pipes but mine 'slipped through the net' it would seem that you made all the small pipes you need with the exception of my one, I got told that you would be doing another run and the exhaust would be with me on Friday 24th September, 11 weeks after I placed my order, at this point I was so frustrated with your service I cancelled my order, I was actually considering getting one of your full performance systems for my car in the next few months but on the back of this service I will now go elsewhere.

Just so you know how your competitors are getting on, After canceling my order with you I called Scorpion exhausts, I ordered a can and link pipe on Tuesday evening, They called me on Thursday to tell me it was being dispatched and it was at my front door Friday morning, That’s a complete order arrived in 3 days and that is how it should be done, so when one of my friends asks me which performance end can/exhaust company I would recommend take a guess what I'm going to say.

Regards

Nice work, but I hope you put some full stops in place instead of the comma's! Anyway, the last paragraph is pretty damning and if I ran a business and I received that kind of apraisal of my service I would be looking for whomever made the mistake and want their neck wrung for them before being threatened with the job club!

If they bother their arses to reply please post it up here so we can follow on!!

I had exactly the same issue with them when I placed an order at the NEC show last year. I think it was about 7 weeks afterwards when I received it. On a number of occasions I was told it had actually been dispatched but never turned up. Interestingly enough it was the link pipes that delayed mine too - allegedly.

When they did finally arrive I fitted them but couldn't get the two cans to line up - one was inches higher than the other. It eventually turned out they'd sent me incorrect spacers and wrong length bolts.

When finally fitted to the bike they looked and sounded exactly as I had wanted, but I'd never buy them again. The company simply has no idea of how to treat customers and downright lied to me on a number of occasions.

Dae.

Commas, full stops, whatever! I'm an engineer not a writer! It gets the point across which is what i wanted. I thought if enough people do this when receiving shit service then it may make things change. If not then much bigger companies than them have been taken down by not listening to and providing for the most important part of their buisness The customers

Same here, I ordered November and it eventually arrived in March, that's right, 4 months later!

E-mailed Nigel loads of times and always got excuses such as, "We are waiting for this part," "We are having problems with this thingy" and so on.

It was nice enough when it got here but I won't be ordering from them again.

Wow, i'd have cancelled as soon as i heard the initial 3 week wait. These day's people like me are used to getting stuff direct from shops, or downloaded from the net. The prospect of having to wait 3 days for a computer part to be delivered seems like forever and i usually end up paying for the next day delivery. 3 weeks? You're having a Giraffe.

I hope they are quicker at refunding you than proving the exhausts.....

A word to the wise about this type of thing.

Visa cards both credit and debit.
If the retailer does not provide the goods in 30 days from taking payment. You could ask you card provider to action a chargeback for non reciept.
Never cancel the order though, if you want to take the above route as once you do that they are unable to assist.

As to refunds. You would need to get something in writing stating that they have refunded your card no, X amount on X day. If its then not recived after 30 days again you card provder can assist to get the money back.
As you can imagine getting that info is never easy from a retailer that has managed to mess you around for so long....
Timelimit for this stuff is 120 days. So don't sit around taking rubbish from a retailer as they know the limits too....

If you used a Maestro card then tough.....
Mastercard, not sure on that,
As ever if in doub't give your card provider a ring and ask for the disputes dept... Not take what the 1st rep tells you Thumbs Up
Thumbs Up Karma

They invited me to their factory when I ordered an end can and link, so they could check my existing system against their patterns. Free fitting, factory tour and refreshments plus an apology that they couldn't throw in a free dyno run that day because the dyno guy was away.

Top company. Thumbs Up

Since we are photo whoring here is my Blueflame. It looks a lot nicer than some of the other underseat exhausts I looked at but the 4 month wait was way too long.

Poor service indeed, and it's a good thing you did putting the report up here, so that others who have suffered the same excuses can corroborate your findings and help prevent further members from being disappointed - well done.

Post up the reply if and when it comes!

Bah Akro's all the way! Especially when you ruin years of r&d, testing and extensive knowledge of exhausts by slicing it in half!
