Buying tools online

Where's a good place to find hand tools (spanners, breaker bars etc) online? Most of the stores around here charge daft prices. £9 for a stick of metal sounds like bollocks to me.

Found this site https://www.transtools.co.uk/ but the delivery seems a bit harsh, I'm only after a couple cheap spanners, Amazon has some cheap sets but not seperate (need a 17/22/24, got all the other sizes I need)

Halfords. £9 is a fair enough price for semi decent quality. Cheap spanners wont last and you will end up buying again.

I have spanners you can add a 0 to that. each. They will outlast me!

All my tools are halfords, and they are still good quality, the 1st type of ratchet spanners where shit though, the open end bends alot.

I've bought lots of tools on ebay, but always go for a name I've heard of. Draper and Sealey are a good budget brand, but don't go for anything with lots of frills. I recently bought a new sealey 3/8ths ratchet with a light in it that shine down through the socket. Good ratchet action, crap light, keep knocking it off.

However, halfords own brand tools are surprisingly good and well priced in packs, although expensive individually. Don't shy away from buying a pack because have some of the sizes already, you'll often need two of the same size and the spanner you need is always the one you can't find.

There's a set (Halfords) with 20/21/22/24 for £8, and the same 22 individually for £10.

I didn't notice the lifetime warranty before, seems fair enough, I'll just hope it breaks before I lose it ..

£8 for those will do me just fine. Daft really!

I have an open ended 17 and no real use for it atm, it just bugged me not having the 'full set'.

Do need the 22/24 though.

Buying tools online will never be that much cheaper than from a shop, (unlike most items), because most tools are bloody heavy which knocks the postage up. There are plenty of cheap second hand tools available on eBay if you look out for the "collection only" ones for sale localy. I picked up a decent socket set for £2.50 a while back and the seller chucked in a load of other stuff - spanners, screwdrivers etc.
