hi all, had my 02 r6 for about 3 weeks, twice the battery has died on me, once after a 50mile ride, requiring me to bump the bike to get it started. First thought was reg/rec but when revving the bike the lights do get brighter. With the lights on revving to 5000rpm the voltage across the battery reaches 13.5v max, with the lights off it shows 14v. After investigating further I find the plug that goes into the reg/rec is slightly melted/burnt where the 3 white wires are ( these come from alternator). Seems a common problem so I followed a tutorial showing how to cut the connector and reconnect the wires direct to the reg/rec. The spade connectors on the white wires looked ok after I got them out of the plug so reconnected them to the reg/rec. I'm not too good with electrics, anything else I can try ?
