the consoles are piss cheap, nintendo collectors are very anal about the cardboard boxes the games come in, so some boxed games fetch stupid amounts of money, and the usual mass produced suspects FIFA, NFL etc etc unboxed go for pennies.

about a tenner for a bog standard one with controller I'd guess

are two good places to look for prices and trends

I love retro gaming.
Even the SNES boxed with original items can fetch stupid money. That said I sold an A1200 accelerator alone for £250 last year!!

Games are a bit funny as well, Monkey Island 2 loose disks £4, an original boxed version with booklets and wheel cost me £25. I've seen some different games go for nearly £100 as well.

It comes down to 2 things. What it is and its condition including accesories.

One of my better uni stories was taking a girl up on the Mario Kart challenge, getting her to play strip mario kart, and had her down to her knicks before I threw all the other games to get laid.

Everyone thinks they rock at mario kart. I have proof.

Oh and my Goldeneye has 007 mode unlocked. And all the cheats. Reckon that makes it worth anymore money?

Haha goldeneye, I think the stress of playing that with friends had shaved a few years off my life expentancy.

My mate is shit hot, to the point where, after one drunken christmas eve where he put his fist through a bus roof and sliced all his tendons resulting in his not being able to use his hand for three months, he learned to play using his feet. This meant that 3 months later when he could use his hand again, he would play with 2 characters, one with his hands, the other with his feet. You'd think that going for the characater played with his feet would be the easy kill. Not so. Arsehole would absolute annihalate everyone. Even when he was just playing with his hands he was just too good to the point it wasn;t worth playing him anymore lol.

Anyone used to play "Body count"? on that level where you meet Sean Beans character at the end? You can trip the alarm and the soldiers keep coming forever, so you see how many you can take out in one life. I think my record was about 600, whereas my aforementioned friend clocked up around the 2000 mark. Good Times.

Mario kart 64 is great, unless you miss a shortcut. Koopa Troopa Beach is the best track, very short & easy to make a come back. Sucks when you hit the ramp & miss the cave. Should bring it back exactly how it was and add online play, maybe stick it on Xbox live or PSN.

As for Goldeneye, is the Klobb the worst weapon in any game? And the Golden Gun stage was fun unless your mate camped at the spawn points..

In theory, I went to uni to do a degree in mechanical engineering, but it was more like a degree in goldeneye.

There was a computer game shop that let you play it, and I found myself playing it every time I went into town, so I eventualy thought I might aswell buy an n64 and goldeneye. It was a really good game and I just assumed that there would be other really good games too.

I bought quite a few, and an inflated insurance claim after a burglary meant I had even more n64 games, and none were ever as good as n64.

I had to try to rope housemates into playing it. Hours of fun with the sound cranked up, four people. The good thing was you could change peoples health to keep it balanced.

It was way beyond anything else. The best thing until counterstrike. I played goldeneye a while back on an emulator on the PC, expecting that it would have really dated. It had but it was still pretty good.

I'm also thinking of getting another n64 as mine no longer works, and I still ahve the games.

What about Turok 2?

Far too hard/long to ever bother completing, but ridiculously pretty for it's time and you can blow people to pieces in so many ways.

Rage Wars was just about ok, but Turok Evolution (released about 5 years later) was the ugliest and least fun game I've ever played.

So hats off to Turok 2.

When you come back, mario kart challenge Cool And Goldeneye. Though I've lost all my skills on Goldeneye, though still beat all my friends...

Haha, Golden Eye is more my bag these days. Goldeneye is SO slow it's painful. Especially once you go to multiplayer.

Mariokart you'll get destroyed though Wink

Challenge accepted Wink

Battle, race or both? I'd say both, though I am better in battle than race. And all maps have to be done. Wink

I'll still give it a go on Goldeneye, but have lost my niche. Though not too shabby Wink
