Right, I'm based in Hull, Yorkshire.

Getting to London or anywhere for flights or anything wouldnt be a problem.

Does anyone know of any seriously cheap deals (cheapest) to get me to Sydney, so I can take advantage of the free accomodation I would have over there.

Googling for flights brings me some depressing results.

Fly, my prettys, fly!

Cargo ship? many take passengers if you're not in a rush to get there.

How cheap are you wanting it?

Thai are a fairly cheap airline but pretty decent when I have used them. I think it's usually cheaper if you go through Amsterdam rather than London. I'm sure you'd get a cheap flight from Humberside to Amsterdam no problem.
Also consider Emirates from Manchester via Dubai and Singapore or Bangkok.

You can go KLM from Humberside-Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney return for £1700

Cargo ships cost MORE than flying actually....... the old mate working as an officer on a ship these days no longer works either due to liability issues!

Megabus / National express down to London or another Major Hub, I sometimes coach down to London to get flights via Heathrow or Gatwick, sometimes saves me about £190. Though remember you're going to have to get the coach back up too which is extra depressing.

November is a bit cheaper then when I was searching for Rolling Eyes

Got Humber-Ams-Bnk-Syd return for £1200.

What dates are you planning to fly on? If you found £800 then I think thats the best you'll get unless you were to just travel to the airport and see what they have got.
They were offering flights from Amsterdam to Boston(IIRC) for £54 in the Terminal when I was there last week. Do you not fancy Boston instead? Laughing

If you've got a bit of time, have you looked at the 'around the world' flights? For not much more, think you can get five destinations including Australia with a flexible time frame.

Yup, shame really, there's easily enough food and cabins for a few people.

With me you could get to Australia in a mere 7 weeks Laughing

My grandfather kinda did that in the 50's he moved over to Oz for 7 years, became the first person to ride across the Simpson desert on a motorbike (Triumph Tiger 110) joined the fire service in Melbourne, got bored so rode back to Scotland Laughing .
He says the best thing about the whole time was that he never got a puncture Shocked.

My uncle has got his diary, he was thinking about getting it to print.
I would love to try and track down his old bike though.

Riding home from work today I saw an advert offering Manchester airport to Sydney for £696, well I think it said that I wasn't going that slowly. Was with STA travel but I'll make an effort to clock it tomorrow.

Cheapest time to fly thataway is between about April and July.
Thats the lowest season.
You can get a fare anywhere between 395-600.

Other "seasons" vary, and between now and Nov is "okay" ... but anything after 10 December until the end of Feb is high season.
