So I have this muc-off stuff and the instructions explicitly state "DO NOT USE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT".

I find than in sunlight this is the best time to wash my bike, especially as it's coming to winter. Why must I not wash in direct sunlight? What about if I put it on the fairing, rub it in really fast and then wash it off, as to minimise sun exposure?

Basically, I want to wash my bike. Right now, while time allows. I want to wash it and then wax it. Any way around doing this in direct sunlight (ie tiny bit at a time) or should it just not be done?

some platics mark quicker than others, some painted metals mark to. They go discoloured, normally lighter. In the case of the screen on my rieju that had it spayed on and left while i arsed about with the dog and a sponge it went from a tinted see through (sunglasses colour) to tinted see through with a mix of light water marks. Annoying....

Pretty sure the Hein Gericke stuff i use says the same but i never really paid any heed of it. Like you say, when do most people wash their bikes? When it is a nice day!

Been doing it this way since i started washing bikes and none of them have dissolved yet Thumbs Up

I prefer to wash my bike in the rain anyway - makes it much easier!

Its more to the point if you leave your bike/car stood in direct sunlight it will soon get very hot. So when you spray the stuff on it just dries where it hits and does not spread out.

Just wash your bike/car with water on a bright sunny day and don't wipe the water off. You will soon see what a mess plain water does, never mind any chemical spray.

Just be sensible and don't leave the stuff on too long in the sun.

If it drys, it'll leave horrible marks.

Just spray a fine mist over the bike if it starts to dry.

Surely just wait a few hours and wash the bike in the shade of a tree or your house or something Confused
