Usual minimoto and karting event that's been run yearly for some time now!

Should be a good turn-out, so a chance to meet your fellow forumites, as well having a bit of fun out there Smile.

If you haven't done minimoto before - it's an excellent 'starter' for stuff like track days and 'big' racing; but in a lot safer environment, where you're going a lot slower and only have centimetres to fall and a smooth surface if you do crash!

The event is at at Hullavington, be there for 11am.

I will need a £10 deposit to secure your place - give me cash in person, pay money in to my account or paypal me £10.54 to cover the fees. Drop me a PM with how you'd like to pay and I'll reply with the details Thumbs Up.

I think we will again request people bring t-shirts with their forum username (or just name for non forum members) scrawled on it - despite some dissenters, I think it worked really well to identify who you were following, rather than another black bike jacket!

I've got to confirm the final price, but hopefully it will either be £30 for one vehicle and £50 for both, or possibly a little bit more.
The first option gives us around thirty minutes in total per vehicle - probably one practice then one race.
The other would give us a practice session, then a grided race from that practice session, then a final reverse start order race based on the first race! I like the idea (and chaos Smile ) of this, but it will cost a little more.

Please leave a reply here if you're interested.

Stick me down as a maybe. It looks likely but I'm suffering from terminal 'meh' right now.

Major difference is that falling off a normal bike hurts while staying on a minimoto hurts.

All the best

I've had crashes on a bike that have hurt a hell of a lot less than just sitting on a minimoto.

My ankles are fucked which means I can't really walk after getting off a mini-moto.

You really don't want to be using that length of journey as an excuse when missing out here;

Just thought I'd let you all know that I FINALLY got home safe just a few minutes ago.

So just to recap over the two days for me that was a total of;

395 miles, or 15 hours of A roads or £20 of petrol on my CG. I have faced many tribulations and gotten lost a great number of times but all in all I can definitely call it my most epic ride so far
Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I'd also like to echo my sentiments that meeting all of you was absolutely amazing. Karting was fun but I had no idea that my first time on a mini moto would feel as spectacular as it did. I really didn't want it to end once I found myself throwing myself in to corners violently enough to occasionally lowside. Special thanks to G for letting me collapse at his place half way.

Finally I feel that it is my duty to inform you after my many trials that the A342 is the longest road in the world, the A272 the most treacherous, the A4 in certain parts the most beautiful and finally, finally the south circular is the pit of Satan that will now be avoided by me at all costs in the future. Thumbs Up

Peace out. Karma

A good day will be had it is sure.

This is 2 weeks after my op' date. So if it all goes well I'll be up for karting, but I'll be firmly in the maybes until the day before I suspect.

How do fat cunts fit on the minimotos or in the karts?

Cos I'd quite like to come but I don't fancy being squished into one of them things.

And my ankles and calves still get swollen from the paintballing fiasco. They never recovered from that experience, LOl

hellkat
old, fat and currently with a dicky back, anyway
(should be better by November, though)

Unlikely to participate in either lot of racing cos I'm too crap and he is still officially recovering from his recent op but if we are free we may come down to spectate, cheer and jeer as appropriate.

HK when I did it a couple of years ago I fit better in the kart than I did in the bloody overalls they give you to wear! Embarassed Chickened out of the minimotos though, the thought of my arsecheeks kind of drooping on either side and the damn bike possibly getting stuck in there somewhere really didn't appeal! Laughing

Mind you, that shouldn't be as much of a problem this year, hmmm...... Thinking
