Newbie question, but should be an easy answer...

Do I need to take another "bike theory test" if I have a Full UK Driving License or can I just go straight on to the Direct Access training as I'm 21?

Cheers guys,

Mark

You do have to take a specific Motorcycle Theory Test.

Do you think the government would squander an opportunity to make a few more quid?

Motorcycle theory is different to a car, you will also need a cbt before doing a DAS.

Ok, thank you.

Yea, says in the info on a couple of training school sites I've looked at that their fee quoted for the DAS will include CBT...but didn't mention anything about a theory test.

Ah well, at least I've got my answer...is the theory the same as for the car that it lasts two years after you pass?

Yes, it is. Bear in mind though, any Mod 1 pass will only last until the date of expiry of your theory.

So don't take your theory and leave it for ages before taking your Mod 1.

Ok, sweet...guess I'll get started on that now.

Going to book a free session at a centre with the "Get On" scheme, just to get the feel of a bike before I've finished saving for the training.

Cheers guys,

Ahhh, ok...I'll be aware of that then...save up a bit more, then I'll look into booking the theory when I'm ready.

Schweeeet...getting excited, just wish I had more money in the bank.
