I was just wondering how long it would be before all motorcyclists would get together and make the government do something for us! They make us pay road tax and fuel tax disproportionate to the size of our vehicles and the damage they cause to the roads. We cause no congestion and do not require multi story car parks, yet we endure crap roads and no real parking facilities. A high percentage of rider death's are caused by the rider hitting poorly designed road furniture. Who else here think's we should get something done? This governments re election manifesto contains nothing except more bad news for us, more restrictions and higher road tax. Gits ____________________ Here comes the summer! |

In regards to multi storey carparks most here have signs up saying no bikes so you park your bike up on the pavement hopefully out of the way in the hope kids/or some prick don't jump on and mess about which has happened a few times to me.
Im more worried about cc restrictions and i even read in one of the papers some mp (mega prick) was saying bikes should be limited to 600cc ____________________ ****NORTHERN IRELAND NEWSFLASH!!**** According to a recent survey, 94% of loyalists said the best sex they ever had was in the shower; the other 6% haven't been to jail yet.*** |

Man, ain't 600 cc enough for ya?! And i completely agree with billy whizz about parking problems and taxes, though the only way the government will go is to rise taxes and impose more restrictions, that's for sure! ____________________ https://charity-fund.org |

600cc would be plenty but if i wanted to go higher i want to make that decision for myself not some eton educated twat who spends most of his life earning a lot for doing very little.
I would like to see car owners restricted to a 1 litre car for 2 years after they pass their test..... also 4x4's should not be allowed outta fields!

May I suggest that if you want action taken where motorcycles are concerned that you spend £20 to join the BMF or MAG, both of which organisations are represented on GAGM (the Government Advisory Group on Motorcycling) and both of which have been campaigning for the rights of riders for several decades.

unfortunately i doubt anything will change no matter how many signatures you send off to the govt in an envelope
to be honest, i dont think they want motorbikes on our roads at all, all the people creating legislation all seem to have a fixed idea about what motorcyclists are and wont change their mind because too many people are killing themselves or hooning about like idiots, myself included, and i wouldnt be surprised to see a ban on plus 500cc machines (or something) within the next ten years ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

Neither the BMF or MAG is about simply putting signatures on a page and sending it off.
However, you can either sit there waiting for your 500cc to be banned while also wishing that someone would do something, OR you can get up off your posterior and do something about it.

Hi
Personally I do think the BMF / MAG have done plenty of good. We still can ride bikes over 500cc and they have not yet made leg protectors compulsory (which was seriously proposed back in 1987/88).
Crappy surfaces would cost a fortune to fix and the government would rather spend that money on other things. Almost as bad for cars (Charlottes car received a smashed headlight yesterday from a surface dressed road).
All the best

MAG and the BMF also prevented the introduction of 100bhp limits.
However, like I said, you can either moan or you can do something about it - no skin off my nose either way.
The only thing is, don't try to justify your lethargy and lack of initiative to me, because I'm a doer, not a moaner.

I am a member of MAG, I just find it hard when they mess about with the whole helmet law issue. TBH I'd rather not need to 'do something about it', I just want to ride my bike in peace.
Its a real shame that we even need to 'do something about it'.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

I apologise, I did mention them, but I still don't suffer from it.
It is a similar situation to the argument we recently had about asylum seekers.
Don't just complain about something - do something about it!
