Riding back from Stockley Park last night, pulled up along side a Police van on a dual carriageway at the lights. When the lights changed I moved off at a reasonable pace (legal ish). Then once he was far enough behind I opened it up, I continued down the road still going quite fast, eventually I pulled into the inside lane behind some traffic ready for my turning.

Just as I was going onto the slip road I hear Woop Woop and one copper leans out of the window and gives me a Thumbs Up.

Bit confused as to what he meant, also I would have thought they would need to be going quite fast to me catch up?

Maybe he had been following you with a radar gun, and was very pleased that he had caught one of those evil bikers travaling at an outragiously legal ish pace, and was straight off to bang on the door of your parents house to tell them you had been caught speeding in the same style as M1ke's predicument from a few weeks ago. You will soon be getting a phone call from your dad saying the Police are at your house and have evidance to arrest you and lock you away for life so you never ride again. Twisted Evil

Or he could just like your bike Wink

I must have missed m1kes story, but they did that to me once when I ran someone over with my moped. I got home (carrying the badly mangled moped) changed my torn jeans and went and reported the accident at the police station up the road. I had no sooner got back from this when my mum was on the phone (from 200 miles away, I was in student digs at the time) saying there were two coppers in her kitchen saying I had been involved in a hit and run. Needless to say, I was in perfect position to bitch-slap them down with all the details of the accident, address of the other party, witnesses and a police accident report number Mr. Green Middle Finger

The police are allowed to go fast to catch people up who are speeding, obviously.

I'm pretty sure the siren and the thumbs up meant "OK mate slow it down a bit, yeah?".

Riding down the A12 through the hackney turn off I was having a bit of fun as there was an idiot close to my rear wheel. I heard a police siren, looked round saw nothing and accelerated again then was over took by a blue vauxhall senator(or similar) and driver indicated me to slow down and mouthed take it easy.

He then carried on without anything else happening

Sometimes cops can be nice. If you do your bike safe the coppers there seem to be quite a laugh and bikers at heart. They want us to be safe and not riding like idiots when conditions do not allow

I have seen a Dark Blue Omega Estate on this road (and through onto the A102). He once pulled a bike in front of me...........I just got lucky that day.

Oh, and what bike do you ride? I am normally on this road every day 08:15 going into town and 18:15 coming out. Very Happy Black ThunderCat, "pressing-on" a little Very Happy Rolling Eyes
