Today on the way home form work i'm sat to the right of the middle of hte lane in traffic doing about 35 in a 40. See a DNA in my mirror, then i hear the horrible 2t squeel. Then see him come up my inside and cut infront of me leading to me having ot hammer on the brakes so i dont hit him. Then he decides he want to turn right.
So as i pass i hold out my right hand and give the Wanker sign to him.
Fucking morons riding bikes in t-shirts shorts and trainers. Who have no road sence or idea of the brotherhood of bikers.
M'eh to the lot of wm!

Most i dont consider as bikers. They only ride peds, becasue it is all they can use as means of independant transport. They have no fear or concept of road manners. Young and foolish.

Some are ok, infact all the pedders i know are safe. It is the minoriy that let them down.

I would say
50% of people on 2 wheels are true bikers Thumbs Up
30% weekend riders/dry miles Evil or Very Mad
20% being the idiots (mostly from council estates) Middle Finger

The last ones are normally the ones you see with t-shirts no helmets or just general junk bikes they have bought for a ton and thrash the live out of while just being a dick.

i'm not labeling all people from council estates as bad i'm from one myself originally but i'm just speaking from my own experience!

Nope, 100% of people on a motorbike are "true bikers" as they're on a bike which I believe to be about the only requirement to being labelled a biker.

I'd be quite happy if I was able to be a fair weather biker as I don't exactly like the rain, cold, wind or any of the other foul things our great weather throws at us. If I had a car then I'd definitely be using it in the bad weather, as I'm sure you would do as well. When was the last time in the foul weather in the middle of winter you went for a ride for the fun aspect rather than for the fact you need to get to the destination?

If someone wants to ride a bike in a t shirt then fine, their skin and bones are at risk, not mine, and you don't exactly need to be a genius to work out what would happen if they have a crash. Not seen anyone out riding around on the roads without a helmet, but again if they want to they should be free to is they want to. It's their head at risk not mine, and again I'm sure that they know what will happen if they have a crash and are not wearing a helmet.

If they have a bike which cost them £100, then good for them, not everyone is able to afford to spend lots on a bike and you should be aware of that. If they're enjoying it, or getting functionability from it them good for them. And if they're "just being a dick" (by that I take it you mean riding in a dangerous way) then it is safer for the general population that they do it on a bike rather than in a car, as if they crash the bike it is a lot less of a danger to other people than if they crash the car.

Thumbs Down

I wouldn't say that about bikes being safer than cars.

In the past 6 months here quads and scramblers have left 2 children dead or injured and these are the only ones i can think of at the moment, one in carrickfergus were a mini quad bounced over on the young rider killing the child instantly and another being in rathcoole in north belfast a 22 year old hit a 3 year old child on a scrambler.

Though thankfully with loyalist organisations (even though i dislike them) people like the 22 year old (who is a known druggie theif) will receive real justice and not some poxy 6 month sentence.

Didn't say that bikes are safer than cars, and would not say that either as they're not in my experience.

What I was saying is that is someone is going to use a vehicle on the roads in a dangerous way it is better (well, I think it is at any rate) that they do so on a bike rather than in a car. If you have a crash on a bike you are less likely to injure an innocent person. I am not saying that there is not a risk of an innocent person being hurt, but the chance of it happening is less in a bike crash than it is in a bike crash.

The examples you gave of children who have been killed or injured whilst on dirt bikes or quad bikes, that is not a nice fact and something should be done to stop things like that happening more. But it does not relate to the topic, which is scooter or bike riders riding in a dangerous way. If these children were doing so on the roads, then had they not been able to get the bike or quad bikes then I would say they would have been using a car instead which is much more dangerous to other people. If they were doing it not on the roads, then I am not arguing the fact that it is not good and that something should be done to prevent it happening, but it has little relevance to this discussion really. Confused

I see your point ste and i agree cars are more dangerous than bikes if driven badly, Its just my experience that i see bikes driven more dangerously than cars by idiots because they are cheaper to pick up.

I mean i'm pretty sure the percentage of bikes compared to cars on the road with no tax or mot is at least similar though i would say these bikes are being driven by people who picked them up on the cheap and have no license were as people who drive cars with no tax or mot at least have a license even though it might not be for much longer. Probably a high chance that if those people riding bikes with no tax, MOT, insurance or license were not doing so on a bike which they decided to buy as your can pick them up on the cheap, were no unable to get the bikes on the cheap, or they could get cars cheap, they'd be doing the same things just in a car instead of on a bike.

I see a lot more cars driving badly then I see bikes doing so. Yes there are bikes which are ridden in a dangerous way on the roads, but the number of cars which I see doing stupid things makes the number of bikes I see doing the same seem almost zero. Neutral

ARGH I just got back from talking to a mate of mine, he's on a Suzook Katana 50. He tells me he's been saving and saving, and soon he's going to get himself a Gixxer 750 - at 17.

Brick Wall Brick Wall Hand Doh! .

I told him he wants his bloody head examining.
Natural selection is about to reassert itself it seems. Rolling Eyes

I don't think there is anything wrong by getting a bigger bike. People can argue that it's very dangerous and what not but the truth is that it's down to the rider himself, just because someone may only have passed there test it doesn't mean he will be a danger on the road or if someone went from a 125 to a 600 or 750. I myself have not passed my cbt or anything yet but I am in the process of going to do it and I will have a 600cc bike, all my friends went for 600cc bikes straight from passing there test and there one of the most sensible people I know on the road.

Never judge a book by it's cover.......

Rolling Eyes

The "do i get a small bike or a big bike as my first bike" has been resolved again and again and again, and i REALLY can't be bothered to go into it now.
