what questions will be asked about the highway code on CBT?

Can you give me some examples?

Are they hard or is it just stuff like what side of the road should you drive on?

Should i read the highway code cover to cover or just the parts about biking?

Only thing they do is get you to read a number plate, to make sure your eyesight is ok.

The cbt is more a common sense exercise to make sure you are able to ride a bike in the first place.

Its when you go for the full test that they start asking questions about riding and maintaining the bike.

We had a group for the classroom exercises and noone got asked individually.

Don't worry about learning it for the CBT, worry more about your safety and getting in trouble with the blues when you overtake on solid whites. It's interesting reading really.

When you can pick up a copy from a couple of quid from WH Smiths/bookshops, or even look at it on line, I think it's a good idea to read it beforehand. You can always learn something from it - after 10 years of driving I bought a copy a few months ago, ahead of my CBT, and managed to learn a few new things.

If you're going ahead to do your test proper, then it's all good learning, both for practical situations on the road, and also for answering questions on the theory test Thumbs Up

Always nice to learn how things SHOULD be done - even if that's not quite what you might do in practice.

Definitely a good idea to have some idea how to behave on the road before you get there, though an in depth knowledge isn't necessary. Most training schools will have in their terms and conditions that you should read the Highway Code before getting there, and I've personally terminated a few road rides prematurely when it's blindingly obvious the student has no idea how to behave out on the road - not safe for them or anyone else not to.
