So a guy came today to see the car i'm selling.

it's currently on SORN, it's still MOTd though, and i let him take it round the block a couple times.

(private street/road Mr. Green )

So he was happy enough with it, said he'd look at insurance and gimme a call back.

He did, and he's coming tomorrow to pick it up.

Thing is, since it's not taxed... and he'll most likely be driving it back to his place...

What happens if he gets stopped?

Is it anything to do with me?

I mean, if i have the cash in my back pocket and the V5 filled out with his details ready to send away, can i get done for anything since it's still technically registered to me?

Cheers

Get a receipt for the cash with details of the car sale on it with the date / time of sale on it signed by both parties.

Is it not down to the operator of the vehicle to make sure its all taxed and what not anyway?

You need to watch out, lots of scammers on gumtree, people pretending to be African leaders and stuff, the scoundrels.
