 |
|
During the winter my NSR always started up a dream. It seems to prefer the cold air.
The last few weeks, ive had some starter problems. When starting, the engine seems to have difficulty in turning over, after a few attempts it does finally start. Thought, initally it was the battery, so I used my battery optimiser and it indicated that there was no probs with it.
I changed the spark plug yesterday, and noticed that it was fairly sooted. Replacing the spark plug aint helped. My revs which normally idle at 1500 have gone up to about 17-1800. My mate suggested that my bike is running rich and the carbs needs adjusting.
Any ideas guys? ____________________ Never underestimate the healing powers of custard.

Ive taken the bike out, and gone on a few long runs, nice high revs, working really well as usual. Still having some tempremental starter probs though (mostly when warm starting funny enough). Im convinced its something to do with the warm weather, its fine when the airs colder.
The starter motor is ok, the engine just makes a churning noise, then the starter whizzes. After the 2nd or 3rd attempt it starts ok. I asked one of my mates was it poss be the airfilter, and he said the airfilter really only works when the bike is running. Its due its first proper 3,000 mile service, so if its not any better, i'll ask Honda to have a look at it.
Ive stopped using BP Cleaner Unleaded fuel, and moved to BP Premium Unleaded, cause its funny, since I changed 2 weeks ago, thats when I started having problems. ____________________ Never underestimate the healing powers of custard.
