Some photographs from around the solar system if you're into that sort of thing. The first one of the sun is cool Smile

At uni they got a load of 3D data on the sun and rendered it all for use in the visualisation building, that was cool Smile

Pic 2 in the sequence looks like a close up of a teenagers face.

Absolutely love this stuff. Brilliant pictures.

Although seeing something so great & unimaginable does make me feel like there 'should' be more to Life then waking up, working & then going to bed. Not much else we can do (or know) but you can't help but think it.

Which reminds me i've bookmarked 'Chariot Of The Gods' (Googlevideos) which i'll be giving a watch.

What annoys me about Boston.com's The Big Picture is unless your monitor is widescreen, you can't have them as your desktop background without having a border Sad

I know you were into photography - not fancy taking any of this type of picture yourself?

Some of them are in really good high resolution, the other year when I was working at the printers, I whizzed off a couple of them on some A2 sized good quality paper for my friend to have in his mini observatory. Worked out to be the best present I could have given him. Thumbs Up

I don't know what I like more, pix of outer space in general (always loved them, my dad was a total space geek) ... or The Boston Globe's fantastic website. Its a tough choice Cool

The photo of the mars dunes look some sort of weird fungi, bizarre!

I don't like that picture of the bottom of Italy's boot, though.
It brings home just how much light pollution there really is on our planet.

I'm not much into pagan stuff, but the Stonehenge one is fab.
