Hi all,

I've just finished putting my front wheel on the Hornet back but there is a grinding noise coming form the left caliper.

As the disk goes round it looks like it's slightly griding against the outside wall of the caliper where the pad is.

What do you think? I've just had the disks straightened also by a garage Sad.

Disc's look straight, is there any pads in there, or are they almost down to the metal?

The pads look fine to me. They've done 3000 miles.

I don't know how to describe this but it is as if the pad is not coming out enough. Where that silver straight line is that's where the disc is touching...

Confused

The wheel has been checked and the guy said it's straight so that's another option out.[/img]

The only way I can make my bike front wheel do that is if I don't put it back on straight. How is your front axle fitted, does it have clamp at one end?

No chance you forgot to put a spacer back in or at the wrong place. the whole thing looks close to me.

Yep the wheel is spaced wrong. If your two spacers are of different length, you might have put them the wrong sides.

The spindle wasn't pushed in enough.

Had to hammer it in a bit with the mallet.
