BSOD

Other half's computer is having a few issues. Starts up fine, then will randomly go to a black screen whilst using it, does this 5 times over a period of time be that 10 minutes or an hour then it restarts.

Each time chucking out this suitably unhelpful error code:

Computer runs fine with no issues in safe mode.

I suspect it is graphics card or graphic card driver related, could anyone point me in the right direction as to how to solve it or at least work out if it is definately the graphics card that is at fault?

Graphics card is Geforce 6600, Asus A8N-SLI motherboard and AMD 3800+ chip.

Yes, he can.

Go to the NVidia site and download & install the latest drivers for your card, see if that fixes it.

/me decides to read the 1st post again. lol

Boot into safe mode, uninstall the drivers and any nvida software, boot into normal mode and get the latest drivers as per Hetz's words of wisdom.

Over heating? Check the fan on the graphics card is working ( and all the others while you're there!) and vacuum out any excessive dust.

Also check the card's seated properly in its slot, and that any extra power connectors are properly connected.

Does the PC also have an on-board video card? If it does remove the Nvidia card and boot the machine using the onboard video, see if it eliminates the problem.

by other half you mean moi lol? it aint crashin in safe mode, works wonderfully. gonna reinstall windows xp when iv backed it all up
