Xbox 360 HDD + Startup

Hi,
just tried to start the xbox up, and it wouldnt get past the startup screen with the logo. I tried re-starting several times but this didnt solve it. I took off the Hard-drive, and it starts fine. Does this mean its a hard-drive failure? Anything else i can try?

Your hard drive sounds like it's collapsed and died a death mate.

You could strip it and plug it into your PC and use an app called Commander to try and repair it or recover your profile.

GAH! If it is totally dead, are my game saves/xbl stuff lost? Il have a look at plugging it in today.

You can plug it in with a Data cable from Microsoft, they were free, not sure if they are any more! I've got one you can borrow if you want!

It could also be the connector on the hard drive, does it have any red lights when its plugged in?

Just replied mate, Best you can do on a flashed console is 250gb. ( Around £40)

Mines Jtagged, so I can have any model/type/size HD I want.
