Hi, I did my CBT about 4 years ago and then never did anything after that. This changes on Saturday however since I am doing my CBT again! woo

Plus I've dragged my dad's old CG out of the shed, fiddled with it for a while and managed to get it started. It's a 13 year old CG-125V that hasn't been used in about 12 years and hasn't been started in 5. So I was impressed that with an oil change, new plug and a new freshly charged battery it was going in about an hour.

So CBT this weekend, I've been on the Carole Nash site for an insurance quote and then get the bike fixed up for an mot. Once all thats been done I'll be on the road.

Really looking forward to it.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

The best thing to do is get the full bike license. Even if you leave it another few years before riding again at least you wont have to do the CBT again.

Thanks, I do plan on going for the full license, I just want to get a bit of road going experience on the 125 before going for the full thing.

I'll definitely get it before the CBT expires this time.

If its been stood for 12 years I'd check the condition of the tyres etc.

Yeah I plan on possibly changing the tyres. They still look ok, the walls don't look cracked but again I am a bit concerned about them standing for 12 years.

Not sure what to do about them though. Do I take them off and go somewhere or tide the bike there. New to it all so having to learn.

You might want to have a look at the tubes too! When riding not long ago my bike suddenly had a rear puncture. Got it home and it had an inch hole in the tube that appeared for no real reason... Maybe it was age..
