Hi all,

A little help would be appreciated please from those of you knowledgeable about PC stuff.

I have recently had to format my hard drive, I have re installed most of my stuff.

I have a HP F380 deskjet all in one printer without the cd, so downloaded the drivers from HP's site.

Please bear with me here...

I ran the program, and nothing worked. I re ran the program, it tried to uninstall the first install, got halfway through and crashed.

I restarted the computer, and tried re-running it again. Now it says Error: " an uninstall is in progress, you must complete that uninstall before continuing"

By this point you will probably of gathered that Im not the most PC literate, I really dont have a clue what to do apart from:

a) buy new printer
b) take computer to shop to be 'fixed'
c) buy new laptop.

I dont really want either of the above options, and am fairly sure it is likely to be something simple, but am at a loss to what it could be, and am not technical enough to know what to do.

Please help if you can.

Thanks for that, but the point is that beyond turning the computer on, and just using things as they are supposed to run, most of the information responses are just goobledegook to me and may as well be written in urdu.

Suprisingly I had already googled it before posting!

There is nothing wrong with your computer or printer, replacing them will not fix the problem.

Ctrl + Alt + delete and end taks on the printer install thingy. it will either have HP / Printer or Install in the name.

Disconnect the printer.
install the driver making sure that you have the correct version for your operating system (including 64 / 32 bit)
Restart your PC
Connect the printer.

I see the problem here. Have you considered remedial English lessons - perhaps along with some reading comprehension tuition?
