Personally I'm quite amused by the following CCTV and do see it as a 'service to the public'.
I don't think such things are particularly within the 'spirit' of the law, as it was originally intended to be used. They are anonymous and do not take account of the situation for which they are prosecuting.

If the worker choose to work in something that many would consider unethical, they should expect some 'abuse' - that they are not actually receiving any in this case as should be made fairly clear is nice.

I don't think however that it should be connected to their campaign.

In this case while they are not targeting the decision makers, they are at least targeting someone involved, but more importantly are directly affecting the revenue raised from them. Further, the vast majority of the public will probably appreciate what they are doing.

It's a bit of a different choice than having to pay for parking though isn't it??? Do I do a shitty job and pay the mortgage and feed the kids or not,besides I honestly would rather have someone scream and shout at me than have a group of people faces covered follow me around all day not knowing if anything/what was going to happen.

The "well, it's a job and somebody else would do it if I didn't" and similar arguments I don't see as holding water personally. Such things have tried to be/are used to explain much nastier things.

A bit of abuse is one thing, following the cctv smart cars around relentlessly could easily be seen as intimidation and/or harassment. (I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with what the ntbpt people are doing.)

What are the cctv cars used to enforce?

That's not what I was saying though, what I was saying is that it's a job and at the moment all the guy's got or maybe he can't afford to live.

I'm all for getting the smart cars off the street but it's the method in which it's being done, at the moment it's a few bikes what's going to happen when the number grows to 20-30 and then the risks go up for everyone. A bit of common sense is all it takes 1 or 2 bikes to follow closely and everyone else further back, b2b comms between the 2 groups and the second group only approaching the car when it actually stops, cuts down on the risks and makes it an obvious protest rather than a village mob witchhunt....

Usually they enforce the rules that the councils have (after huge amounts of lobbying) gained the legal right to 'police'. Box junctions, no right/left turns, parking, etc etc.

Along the same lines, however.
I worked at a Starbucks in a supermarket for a while. I expected some abuse, it goes with the job.
I got offered a cold calling job at 'zenith windows'. I decided that I couldn't take it 'ethically' - as I particularly dislike being cold called myself.

Not sure they've got any plans to increase the number of bikes to 20-30? Unless we're thinking the same thing they're claiming of WCC Razz.
