Tiewraps maybe, but not Araldite-able.

Hi

If one fork is snapped then it has taken one hell of an impact. I would work on the basis of buying a new set of forks with yokes, and probably a front wheel. However, first make very sure the frame isnt bent. The NSR (and the RS) use cast alloy frames, and cast stuff tends to crack rather than bend so I would be dubious about trusting a damaged cast frame

All the best

Keith

How the hell did you do that??? And are you ok?

If I was you I'd get that frame on a jig and checked straight away. I wouldnt be surprised if it was a write off.

The left fork looks like a fairly gentle bend and it may be usable. The right is probably not even worth bothering with. However, check the yokes and the frame carefully, and follow McJamWeasals advice at get it on a jig.

All the best

If the police say it's her fault then claim on her insurance, that's what it's there for!

if anything, people who have more recently passed there test are the better riders

the only thing age brings is experience, but as you get further and further passed your test day you develop habits and get lazy etc

and if the police say its 100% her fault, get out the policy and take her for everything she has got until you get your bike sorted mate

Claiming off someone else's insurance isn't quite the same as sueing them Goose. His bike will be inspected by her insurance company and they then, with an engineers report, decide how much they'll pay out, usually as little as they can get away with.

Riders that just passed their test are in no way the best riders around. Being young, inexperienced and often stupid aren't ingredients for being a very good rider. The longer you've been riding the more experienced you get, you know what to expect from other road users, you know how to handle situations and you're less likely to panic. You may develop habits, but I wouldn't say that the longer you ride the more careless you get.

From my point fo view, I don't think a bike ever feels quite the same after an accident. Definately follow everyone elses advice and get it fixed through insurance...also look at personal injuries, whe you fill out the incident form (you'll get one from the police) make sure you include EVERY ache and pain you have - because they may get worse, may get better - you dont know.

If I was you, look at getting another bike when everything is sorted (only my humble opinion though Smile )

In an insurance companys view that bikes a wrightoff. New forks and yoke and frame checked, new wheel, gonna cost bout £800 and theyll only value the bike at £1300 tops.
Hope u get it sorted soon, try and get a 400.

Hi

If it is her fault then claim off her insurance. The insurance company will write it off at damage amounting to about 2/3rds the value of the bike. They will almost certainly not bother to try to repair the forks, and the front wheel is likely to be wrecked as well. At new prices I bet some forks and a front wheel are at least £600 alone even before you add the fairing damage, headlights or anything else.

Look forward to your insurance money as I agree the bike is almost certainly a write off, but dont hold your breath. I got hit by a car on a roundabout years ago (I was on the roundabout, car drove onto the roundabout into the side of me). 100% the other guys fault. Still took 6 months to get the payment through

All the best

Keith

thanx for the help quys but my situation isnt so simple.. i cant go to her insurance and start claiming.. well police said her that its 100% her foulth and they recommended her to find a compromise with me.. so they didnt write any brotocol.. so she said that she knows that she was wrong and that she has to cover the loss.. but as i can see it. her car value wasnt bigger than my bike chain.. i dont think shes got any money. i holp i can get from her 1000$ and thats it..

The value of her car makes NO Difference to your insurance claim. You need to just pass onthe details of her insurance company to yours and they will sort the rest out....provided you have legal cover?? However - your insurance company will do their damnest to get the money from her policy.....Dont worry!! It may take a while but with an incident number you should have no problems.
