well last thursday on my way to work around half 8 i had a lovley chappy pull out in front of me while i was filtering.

Apparently he didnt see me, lucklily i have a few witnesses the police are involved atm so we shall see how this pans out.

My zx6r is dead i'll upload some piks later on when i come round about bit more, and I've got a broken tibia and fibula so they put a titanium bar and pins in my leg from the knee down.

Its been a week since the accident and I've managed to talk my girlfriend and even my mum into allowing me to get another bike Very Happy

Sorry if nothing makes much sense im really bored trying to stay sain and im full of pain killers

Ouch man,

I hope it goes your way, I'm about 3 months down the line from my filtering accident and not much has happened! Sad Most people say it will go 50/50 as well...

I can't stress enough the importance of using your own independant solicitor that has a proven experience dealing with bike accidents in cases such as this. If you use the 'legal team' that your insurance provides you are effectively giving the insurers every chance of handing you partial blame and costs - regardless whether that is actually due or not.

Anyway, hope it all works out. Karma

Probably not the main thing on your mind right now but I'd say get in touch with a decent motorcycle accident claims service like Rider Support Services who will push and push till you get a decent and fair result to your claim.
Insurance companies will, if you allow them to, simply try to minimise their costs and won't give the claim a fair run at all. Make it clear to them you have chosen your own solicitor and wish to use your legal expenses policy to cover this which is perfectly valid.

I've been where you are and it sucks, trust me.

I was in pain for the first while, then it turnt to boredom, then it turnt to wanting to ride again, then you can walk without crutches and you get on the bike.

Get well soon and my actual advice is walk as MUCH as you can, I never used a wheelchair when I broke both my femurs and that's why they healed so quickly, if you use them the body heals them faster.

Again, GWS! Thumbs Up!

Ouch.

I had a filtering accident, which I considered 50/50 and offered to settle it without going through insurance, as the value of damage was about equal to me as to her.

She thought she was blameless, so it ended up taking a year to sort out. However good job too, as although I was fine after the accident, about a month later I got pain in my arm and shoulder. Which goes to show, you dont necessarily know if you got hurt.

It ended up being determined that it was all her fault.

I got £2k for injury, so broken bones would be a lot more I would have thought.

Threads make this make me realise how lucky I was.

'That damage' really isn't a lot. I did a buttload more damage doing the same speed I'd garner considering he was filtering.

Paulington wasn't your crash at 30mph?

I filter at around 30 on motorways, I have had people catch me up before too so while 30 is too fast I'm not the quickest.

My crash was at 30mph and I:

Broke both femurs.
Broke my right fibula.
Broke my neck.
Broke my back.
Broke a few ribs.
Broke my zygoma (upper cheekbone) on left hand side.
Bruised my lungs, liver and kidneys.

Speed isn't what kills you, it's how you stop. He's lucky to get away with what he did tbh.

Sounds like a few pints of milk in your youth would have done a world of good, or you need to come off the pill and try a different type of contraception.
