Sure it wasn't them having a general whinge? Like if you overtook a local like a bat out of hell "See him that lives there, what's his name? Tom something isn't it? He was doing 90mph on that 500 of his the other day. Tut, tut, tut.".
It happens, especially in small towns. I've had people whinge that I drive too fast on my way into work. In fact. One guy today felt the need to challenge me about it when we met nose to nose on a narrow bit of road. He seemed to be under the impression that a "road narrows" sign was actually a "give way to oncoming traffic" sign. He had a good old whinge about how he's already had one crash at this spot and another on a narrow bridge just up the road in the last 12 months.
I helpfully pointed out that I've driven along the same bit of road an average of four times a day for the last 10 years and haven't crashed once and that nobody has right of way on the narrow bit, it's first come first served. Also that I didn't in actual fact crash into him and even had we both been going a lot faster, I'd simply have put two wheels of my 4x4 on the verge as I have done many times (this is why I have a 4x4 because said road is frequented by rabid aggregate wagon drivers from a local quarry who can't and wont stop for oncoming traffic).
I suspect he wanted me to get out of the car and grovel appologetically but his accident history seemed to me to speak volumes about who was in actual fact driving at an appropriate speed for the conditions.
Anyway, the point is, he's probably had a good old whinge to all his mates about how I drive like a crazed lunatic for the rest of today. I can feel my ears burning as I type. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

So he,s in a 40 ton artic and your on your Honsukaha Thunderped, but you were there first,
first come first serve, i think not |
Stinkwheel's post says he was driving a 4x4, not a bike...
I don't think lorries should push people around, most drivers will be polite, it's not called for to try and force your way through.
In answer to the original post, I wouldn't panic too much about whoever that was. The police won't have shared the information with anyone else. Like someone else said, if you've been zapped by one of the community neighbourhood watch dogooder-type people, the whole village will know about it, but if the police did it, the envelope on the doormat will be the first you hear. |

You're a cunt. I think so.
Lorry drivers are generally decent enough to sit and wait if people are oncoming, unless they're already commited to the position on the road. I know, my dads a Lorry driver, so are several family friends and old work mates and have been for as long as I can remember and we often have chats about retards on the road, who infact shouldn't be there due to how they were driving on the road.
With regards to what stinkwheel said, where did he mention the other guy was in a lorry?
AFAIK, police can't share information like that out to just 'anyone' so you shouldn't worry about your personal details being given out (something to do with data protection I think?). More likely as has already been said, village watch-keepers with the radar guns, or just people mentioning your hooliganism. ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh |

Thankyou for the complimet.
I feel your missing the point here, if you meet a 40 ton artic on a narrow road, and your on a bike, or in a 4x4, are you realy that mutch of a prick that you will sit there and make him back it up just cos you were their first, have you ever tried backing up an artic rig on a country lane? its easier for a bike or a car to back up |

You need to ask yourself why a lorry would go down such a narrow road that it would require other vehicles to backup if they should meet.
Most places which have deliveries or pick ups from have roads wide enough for 2 lorries side by side incase the inevitable happens.
Your point however is flawed, If a lorry has come off a junction onto a narrow road and is 50 yards from the junction, and I'm on the same road heading towards the lorry, but have travelled 2 miles on it. Why should I have to back up when the lorry can as it is a lot easier for the lorry to do it due to the distance travelled.
But, like I have pointed out above, Lorries rarely use such narrow roads unless it is a strictly necessary thing to do (such as access road to a site). ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh |

Before the arguing gets out of hand.
The road in question is an unmarked B-road. Mostly wide enough for 2 cars to pass and mostly wide enough for a wagon and car to pass if the car driver is aware of how wide his car is, tucks right over and breathes in.
There are several points where it is in no way wide enough for two vehicles to pass. It has a lot of sharp bends and high hedges on both sides of the road so forward visability is very limited.
There are four sand and gravel quarries located on this road. The heavy tipper drivers are paid on the weight of material they deliver per day. They drive as fast as they can get away with, they will tuck in but they are invariably going far too fast and with a full load, there is no way they could stop in time so they don't bother. The guys on the flatbed artics with bagged sand or concrete blocks take it a bit slower but not much.
I was taco-ing passenger side front wheels at a rate of one every 3 months when I was driving a mondeo through hitting stones at the side of the road when dodging wagons so I got a 4x4.
Yes, it is patently rediculous, the road should be upgraded to 2 lanes. There are frequent accidents, usually involving people running off the road or into the parapet of a single file bridge. The quarry company even offered to pay for the work. The council wont allow it because they'd have to compulsory purchase and demolish at least three listed houses to do so or re-route the whole road.
I do however know said road like the back of my hand.
The guy in question was a car driver. One of the wagon drivers would not have stopped. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
