my xbox will _NOT_ play RDR. anything else is fine though

this is just wierd, i know im on the latest update (re - downloaded it) and it isnt the disc - tried mates copy in mine and mine in brothers xbox, mine works in brothers, mates doesnt work in mine. i get to the "revolver" bit with the rockstar logos, then just before the main screen comes up, im lefrt with a black screen and more often than not frozen xbox!! ANY other game works fine, its just RDR

i had this problem with my xbox and the game ninja gaiden 2 it could be caused by some dust perhaps? or are you using an arcade xbox and the others you tried it on are elites or even the newer ones, or somtimes it could be a dodgy disk?
try renting a different copy of the game from blockbuster or any other local games retailer and see if they work

Try clearing the cache on the Hard drive

Go to System Settings -> Memory

Press Y on the hard drive and select "Clear System Cache")

yeah that will delete all updates for everything so relly it could be the case of a bad update but if the game works on everyone else's console and everyones else game works on your's then, the chances of it being caused via that is slim

Seen this before on a few 360's and its always turned out to be the hard drive itself. Replacement of the hd was the only option

Clear the cache, or install the game on to the hard drive.

Try installing the game first, just press Y on the game from the Xbox home screen.

If that doesn't work, clear the cache, mine did this with GTA4, cleared the cache, and all was fine

already clearedcache - same problem. NO disc works in my box but mine works in others.

guess ill try swapping for brothers HD

Have you tried installing the game to the Xbox hard drive??

I have done this with games that won't play properly!
