Evening all thought i drop by i used to come on here when i was 17 and did my cbt and had a yamaha xt 125, now 22 and realised i have enough funds to do my full bike licence thought id come back to see how this community has grown.

Just passed my theory thursday 43 out of 50 and 60 out of 75 so not bad pass is a pass.

Im hopeing to book a das course for the 11th of october and if things go well would love to get a honda vfr400 nc30 for a first bike.
i was wondering what to look out for on the tests, ive heard a few bad things about the swerve manouvre.

Any hints or tips would be appreiciated.

Its easy mate, you'll be fine. The tarmac is really grippy and its just a little push on the bars; getting up to speed is what you need to worry about.

Any decent instructor will make sure you're prepared for it anyway.

I was thinking the same as you too, fancied a 400 for a sensible but quick first bike; I sat on a few, couldn't find many that weren't shagged, tried a fair few 600s too and went for a Hornet in the end. Try as many as you can

Welcome to the forum. Or welcome back as the case may be. If you trawl through this newbie section you will find a whole host of info about what to expect on mod 1 and 2 and links to you tube with video's of both tests to help out.

Main points to remember and make sure you do are mirror checks and life savers.

Welcome and good luck with your test. As said earlier a lot of the 400's have been ridden around the block a few too many times. A CBR600F is an ideal beginner bike should you wish for a sporty bike.
