After almost a month of "having" my first bike, sitting in the body shop that is waiting for insurance (hopefully getting sorted soon) some prick in a silver corsa ran me off the road as i was bringing the bike home from the dealers on the 3rd of september.

Thought i'd take it home on the backroad from Elgin to Forres as i knew the road reasonably well and i'd be able to go at my own pace and get used to the bike before taking it on a main road later that day, regardless to say didn't go very well, my Lexmoto Street 125 only had 167 miles on the clock when it hit the floor (only 3 done by me) and i had it a grand total of 45 mins which i might add will now cost me £300 for my troubles with insurance (thank god for comprehensive cover)

anyways new bike should arrive later today, will post pics in the new bikes section and i'll post damage pics of the one i crashed on later when i get home from college

I suggest that you spend what remains of your bank balance on some more training before you bin it again.

Don't claim on your insurance for a shite chinese 125, fix it yourself and flog it - I know all too well how much insurance claims effect your insurance (and mine was a non-fault!).

So fix it, sell it, pay back your mam and buy a £300 Honda CG.

Really wouldn't bother going through insurance.

Unfortunately all has been pretty much done and said and the bike is 99.9%% likely written off because of various minor and major bits of damage, even tho i managed to bail on grass there was a considerable amount of damage and i'm nowhere near knowledgeable enough on bikes yet to fix it, it's been sitting at the garage since the 6th Sad

That ^

You are young, male and trying to get insurance - don't let an at fault claim be another reason for insurance companies to drybum you.

My insurance quotes for fully comp go down £1000 if I didn't declare my non fault claim, even though I have 3 years ncb.

You're going to regret that statement so much in the future.

No offence mate, but I would have gone the cheap CG125 route over that bike you have bought.

I will be cheaper, more reliable and it looks better.

All my opinion of course Wink

Hold up a minute. Insurance aside...

You bought a new bike that you crashed within 3 miles of riding it, and you've used your payout to buy another of the same?

Has it crossed your mind that part of the reason for your misfortune may be that the bike you choose is shite?

Take the money and run away from the chinese tat mate, we aren't being arseholes or trying to take the piss we are genuinely trying to help.

You will regret buying a chinese bike, something will go wrong with it and when it does parts are near on impossible to find, dealer backup is terrible and the whole process will make you want to kill somebody - if you haven't already died in a crash caused by the bike's incompetency that is.
