Hey all, I passed my CBT!

Looking for a moped went into a store yesterday to ask a few questions about buying a 2nd hand, They said stick away from chinese makes, Try for a 2 stroke, and also a 2nd hand moped is close to dying and being useless?

They also said 7k-10k mileage will need a engine rebuild, is all this information correct?

and what should i look for when buying a moped now?

2-stroke engines let you get more power out of a minimal number of CCs but the cost is that the engines do, indeed, require frequent rebuilds. A 4-stroke won't need anything like that sort of maintenance but you'll be lucky to get 3bhp out of one.

Opinions vary wildly on Chinese bikes on this forum. Some people rate them, others reckon they're worse than scrap. For a few hundred quid's worth of moped I'd probably risk it myself. Cue inevitable disagreement...
