Anyone tried one?

Just placed an order for one, anyone tried them?

I figured it would be a good idea because the Caberg Trip helmets are great, apart from when it comes to the visors fogging up in the wet and cold... Smile

Couldn't get on with mine - it didn't fit well in an Arai helmet (the chin bar on an Arai is pretty close to the face) and it interfered with me getting the helmet on and off. When I did use it results were pretty good though. Probably a better solution than a pinlock insert if you wear glasses as stops both them and the visor fogging up. I don't, so I use an insert these days.

I used one in my old helmet. Lasted 5 mins till I took it out as my glasses kept fogging up.

I've used them in the past and they've always done the job spot on for me. Haven't had one in my lid since I started wearing glasses though so don't know how it would affect them.

The only thing I found with them was I had to pull the clip at the top of the nose forward everytime I removed the lid otherwise it would be quite an uncomfortable experience!

This is fine for the first 6-8 months of use, but the problem being that this then stretches the top of it and it effectively becomes useless.

Still for the sake of a tenner, I don't really mind that.

I don't think they work in flip helmets, they stick to the padded cheek bits which the Trip doesnt have.

Apologies if this is thread-hijacking but is there anything you can spray onto a visor to stop the rain and crap distorting your vision. I've seen an Ad for something called RainX which claims to do it all but I'm sceptical ....

I had a Respro Foggy mask when I bought my first helmet... an AGV V-Flyer for the record... but really couldn't get on with the Foggy mask fitted in to it. I don't think it ever saw any road miles, cos I removed the mask before it's first ride.
I guess it's a matter of personal taste, plus of course if the Foggy feels comfortable and functional with your lid.

As far as I can remember, RainX produces an anti-fog product and rain repellant sprays... and obviously there are other manufacturers that have similar products too.
I've tried some sprays and I even tried the glove wiper blade but I seem to get easily distracted by accessories which is probably not a good thing for me when I'm riding in the rain.
Again it's down to personal preference, but I just wipe the back of my gloved thumb across the visor to clear the outside, and keep the visor open just one notch to minimise the fogging.
If you happen to be riding at any speed (maybe 50mph+), just tilt your head to the side for a second, and the rush of air usually clears the visor quite well Thumbs Up

Speed up and turn your head to the side to blow the rain and crap off your visor. Thumbs Up
