Is here!

Anyone been/planning to go picking this year? I'll hopefully get out a night this week.

Thumbs Up

Had a go this weekend, first time I've tried, pickings were slim from what I found, my location was textbook as well - cows and rabbits there every year, 140 acres of countryside - there's bound to be a harvest for the taking there surely! Well, perhaps, but not right now, will have another venture next weekend as theres more rain due this week.

Following a thread on the Shroomery regarding this years season, people up North are having a great result, whereas the midlands and further south are lagging at the moment but there's hope yet.

Here's a few I picked - some of them are the Precious but I think a few are lookalikes - waiting for confirmation from those wiser than I at the moment.

They've been decent for weeks up north, think I'm just going to get someone to post me some from up there rather than chase the elusive trail all over the south.

Perhaps not, but it wouldn't matter if all of them were since I need a good couple hundred to do anything worthwhile with, so as long as I can confirm at least 1 is I'll know exactly what to look for and where to find them next week. That was 1 of several photos I took as well so might have some in the others.

I've been out harvesting berries for weeks now and have so many my freezer is bulging at the sides, top and bottom! The cupboard is popping with alcoholic concoctions and just today I've made another 3 litres of damson vodka and picked another 2kg of sloes!

However, there are no 'shrooms to be seen anywhere yet Crying or Very sad I'm not very confident with them TBH but my neighbours are knowledgeable, so I figure if they eat them I'll follow Mr. Green

Even when you know what you're looking for, get someone who knows to check for you, it's easy to get something shit/nasty.

Marked a couple as I reckon from the photo.

Bear in mind I've only been picking the once, but at the same time ate a fair few of my haul and I'm still breathing so take it however you wish. Wink

Top left look nice with a pronounced nipple on top, the one I've X'd I think are too grey/brown and too rounded on top.

Obviously photos are hard to go by for finicky stuff like mushroom ID'ing.

I need to get out soon myself.

Happy hunting all.

Had several expert opinions now, the ones in yellow and green are Libs for shizzle, so this weekend I shall be hunting once again looking for those!

I would agree with this, they have the correct golden colour and lighter stem, the incorrect ones here are have dark stems and generally a flatter shape.

I haven't found any yet this year-only been out once for a walk, it tends to get better here when its both wet and cold.

I suppose you could. Something along the lines of "Now you've eaten those and are starting to feel ill. For £20 I can tell you how poisonous shaggy parasol mushrooms really are. "

Better still there are plenty of Fly Agaric growing in my garden, they should be worth £50 for the same info. Not that it'll help, it's still a slow, agonizing death. Good hallucinogen, they say, but I'll stick to the stuff that doesn't kill you so fast.

dragonfly.... milf and entrepreneur

mushrooms scare me, so i stay away from them.

They scare me to the wild ones I only eat closed cup sainsburys ones. Now they are the bomb! I eat way to many of them. I couldn't ever touch them special ones i would be convinced I was dying and end up in a mental home or in a bubble and dead.
