the wife has taken to growing stuff in the garden, starting with carrots, potatoes and chilli's (in the house for those)

the carrots are growing well with about an inch of foliage, some long thin leaves and others a more traditional bushy type.

my understanding is that thinning is required despite the spacing between the rows.

anyone know the length at which thinning should take place?

also should we aim to only retain the bushy types of foliage?

(personally i'd just leave them and hope for the best but she won't go for that)

The long thing leaves are earlier in their growth cycle.

There's a good few hectares grown near me, we drill them in raised beds, they dont get thinned at all.
